suede@幕張メッセ（summersonic 2002）
ここ数年、世の中の流行とはまったく関係なく、ひたすら我が道を行くsuede。まああまりに独自だからねえ。ムキムキbrettぶりも相変わらず（笑）。デビュー当時の妖艶な美しいbrettのほうが好きなんだけど、まあいいや。過去の定番に、9月に3年ぶりに出すアルバムの曲を数曲を加えた構成。1stの「metal mickey」「animal nitrate」とかのイントロが流れるとやっぱ狂うわ〜。ほんとは定番だけじゃなくて、「to the birds」「together」「every monday morning comes」とかの隠れた名曲こそやってほしいんだけど。フェスティバルはどうしても尺が短いんで、単独来日を激しく希望。
会社を抜け出してライブに行くことが多いとどうも前まで進出しづらいけど、今回はひさびさに2列目のど真ん中で参戦（笑）。なので、メンバーがすごくよく見えた。simonは相変わらずのポーカーフェイス。意外とおもろかったのがmatt。クールビューティ系なのに、腰を振りつつけっこーサビを大声で歌ってるのね、マイクないけど。なんかこの人、きっとむちゃくちゃsuedeのファンなんだなあと思った（笑）。無能でビジュアル担当でだいっ嫌いだったneilくんがようやく脱退してくれて、後釜に入った元strangeloveのalexがけっこーな拾いもの。ギターもキーボードもコーラスもこなすいい男。うーん、いっぺんでファンになりました。かわいいrichardくんは前から傾向はあったけどちょっとむちむち度がアップ。むう。しかしrichardのギターはいいねえ。色気がある。
んでbrettよ。あんなうれしそうな顔してるbrettは初めて見た。歌ってるときは厳しい顔をしてるのに、歌い終わった後のあの笑顔。至福の顔。最高（涙）。最初にファンになったときは、1stアルバムを出した直後のライブの映像でね、「to the birds」の最後にbrettがくるっと振り向くところがあって、その振り向きざまの顔に惚れちゃってさ（笑）。一生ついてこうとそのときも思ったけど、今回のあの笑顔でその気持ちを新たにしたよ。ちなみにそのライブはね、なんとよりによってNHKのBSでやってたんだよ！ゲイセックスやら近親相姦やらがちょー濃厚な歌詞だらけよ。あり得ねーだろ、ふつー（爆）。今回はたぶんファンがよかった。3年もアルバム出してないバンドのライブに必死に参戦してくるやつらだけのことはあって、みんな全部歌えるもんな（笑）。たぶん世界中のどこのファンより日本のファンは熱心だよ。どうしようもなく村社会だけどね。まあバンドがバンドだからどうしようもないけどな（笑）。
