johnとの再会
iTunesの公式サイトでひっかかるpodcastに飽きてきたので（もうかんないからか、結構好きだったヤツも更新止まってるし）、なんとなく好きなサイトとかでぶらぶら探してたら、Tateで山盛り発見。いまTate Modernでは来年の2月までだいすきなMark Rothkoの大回顧展をやってて（そのせいで夏行ったとき調整のためRothko Roomが閉鎖されてたんだけど！でも2月から日本に来るけど！）、そんなの見つつ、夏行ったときにやってたこれまただいすきなCy Twombly展のページを見てたら、なんとかつて我らが愛したjohn squireがっ！！！！！Cy Twomblyの解説して（てかなんで好きかてしゃべって）るpodcast発見（web版はこちら）。
johnのことがだいすきでだいすきでだいすきで、でもroses後のjohnにはほんとにがっかりで悔しくて、特に「time changes everything」のソロライブ、あれは見ててただただ泣きたくなった。「marshall's house」でEdward Hopperてのも直球過ぎてがっくしだったし。ianの現役バリバリのかっこよさを見ちゃうと情けなくて……こないだ来日してくれたscouting for girlsのギターのgregとも（gregの3大だいすきバンドはroses、zeppelin、foo fighters）、johnかっこよかったのにがっかりだよねーて一緒にひとしきり悲しんだ。johnが好きなことしてしあわせならそれでいいけど、ギターを置いちゃったjohnにはもう期待しないて気持ちであれからずっといたから、自分の好きなもの追ってていまさらjohnに出くわすとは思うてもいなかった。
けど考えてみれば当たり前かも知らん。rosesがだいすきで、歌詞の一字一句を全部覚えてて、「going down」で初めてJackson Pollockを知って、johnが描いてたrosesのジャケットがJackson Pollockの影響を受けてんのを知って、New York Schoolの展覧会に行って、Mark Rothkoが好きになった。それまでアートはあんまわからん思うててほとんど興味なかったのに、モダンアートんなかでも一番訳わからんどでかいアブストラクト系だけ好きになった。Rothko Room目当てでロンドン行くたびにTate Modernに通うようになって、Cy Twomblyを好きになった。ぐるりと一周したら、そこにjohnがいた。正直怖くなったよ！どうしてもどうしてもどうしても好きなものが似ちゃうんだなあ……ひさびさに見たjohnは相変わらずギザカワユスで、昔より落ち着いてるけど、びっくりするほどはっきりしゃべれてて。嗚呼やっぱし嫌いになるなんて絶対無理！
ギターは置いちゃったけど、いまでも絵は積極的に描いてます。いまロンドンで個展やってる。11/1までだけど、行ける方はどうぞ見に行ったげて。
